thats quite a big issue, and also i think it looks strange with lots of expensive bits that aren't meant to go together.

Lots? There's nothing expensive on it, apart from the wheelset. Like I said, I don't run a museum and like to ride this bike, because it's light, smooth and fast.
The only thing I'd change right now is the bars and I've found something more suitable already.
