yeah, that's always been the case.
It's a mix of hacks... the spy page is an add-on, and so is the ignore system. They're not aware of each othr.

I know im going to be slated for this. UTFS and all, but i remember there was once reference to how to hide the forumn from people looking over your shoulder (literally). The only issue is i have *NO *idea what its called or where to find it so i dont know what perameters to enter in the search. Some program that would make the bottom tab disappear and drop pics and change fonts and such... Where am i supposed to look.
Sorry in advance, but im moving next to 2 very senior ppl and this is for my sanity and their safety :-)
(im way to scared to start a new thread - but that wouldve been useful... If not already there) -

Interested in this too...
or alternatively, can the forum be displayed within gridlines a la Microsoft Excel. If so, please use pastel colours so my co-workers dont get suspicious. -

The great thing is, it works for any program.
Did we ever have a work-safe display on here? I know we had (and have) the SSL to prevent monitoring, but the work-safe rendering? No... it was more a list of things you could do yourself, like changing your options so that you turned off images and avatars, etc.

Im sure i saw someone suggest a system that would hide the bottom tab (on the blue line on windows at the bottom). hmmm... I will try and trawl through it.
But if you remember where that was and can point me to what youre suggesting, maybe its all grouped together!

Whats happened to the Linkback function? Has it been disabled?

I'm getting strange errors tonight (no change there you may add), but the quoting function is failing... I get two of those 'secure / insecure' items warning messages and then it tells me its performed an illegal operation and can't display the page.
This is on a PC of course, running Windows something.

Here's an odd one, not really a bug as such but behavior I thought worth noting.
I multi-quoted the normal way by clicking "milti-quote" and then "quote" on the next person. I then decided not to bother replying and carried on browsing the forum. I later returned to the same thread and went to quote someone else. When the advanced reply page loaded it had remembered the original "multi-quote" quote (but not the original "quote" quote) and added the more recent quote after it. Does that make sense?More of a quirk than a real issue.

I may have just borked the DNS records whilst trying to add SPF records.
I guess I'll find out in a short while.
Another case of tweaking the server whilst pissed.

VB, I tried to subscribe to a forum (polo and LPC) hoping anything in those threads would be on my "subscribed threads" list, but they ain't... Is this a bug, or is it not supposed to work like that?
-
• #1021
Subscriptions to forums... they don't do what you think they do.
Can't recall why, something to do with performance. It's in the FAQ I think. I'm not sure what subscribing to a forum actually does do.

Im tearing out the lasr remaining hair on my head, trying to upload some photos. they're Jpegs, under 200kb, but even individually, they just fail.
Any ideas? -

I can't seem to view the forum properly at 25 posts per page (which I prefer) today. 'Last post in thread' or 'Last page in thread' links take me to the threads' halfway points (when I have it switched to 25 posts per page). However, the number of pages at 25 posts per page is still shown at the top right. If, say, in a four-page thread I click on a link to page 3, I stay at the top of page 2.
I've temporarily switched to 50 posts a page, where everything's fine.

If I click on the small downward pointing triangle next to a thread for new posts (e.g. http://www.lfgss.com/thread35928-new-post.html) I get Page not found error.
That works well... I was trying to be a smart-arse and dupe this thread, but sure enough the search function returned the original at the top of the list.
...it also returned a thread in which Chris Crash swallowed a bug while riding, which inevitably degenerated into a debate about vegetarians/vegans and the respective merits of spitting and swallowing.
Pretty standard stuff.
