I think Andy's right with the exception of the wheels. If they are the 2010 version of the EA90 SLX, you'd be hard-pressed to find them under £500.
I suppose you could easily find a new alu/carbon bike with 105 groupset for sub-£1k, but the supplied wheels would be well below this spec/price range. Plus he's got DA shifters as a bonus.
Bear in mind also that the Espresso frame is designed for time-trialling (according to PL website) - if you want a general road frame you could probably get something a bit lighter/nicer for you money.
And most important of all, you need to get a bike that fits right and feels right for you, especially when you're spending this kind of cash. There are a lot of other options out there...
