Mike, not at Newport this year (the last time I rode my bike in anger) but last April, a month before I rode 600 miles in five days in Ireland. The stripping of skin at Newport was a distraction from the operation I had but a few days later and made sleeping rather tough as I had no skin on one buttock and an operation wound on the other.
Object, I have Look Keos and now own a lifetime's supply and check and change them very regularly. One benefit of my accident was that MrsO insisted that I bought a new pair of Sidis as she thought the issues was with the shoes and not the cleats and so I now own two pairs which is nice and which also means that, if time does not permit the changing of cleats, I can simply change shoes.
Mashton, it was a pleasure to spend a bit of time talking about something other than my arse. Believe me, it has rather preoccupies me over the past two months.
A ride would be good, but it will be at least a month and probably longer before I am riding again. I will be so fat then that hills might be an issue unless we wait until I trim down a bit.
