  • ^ Is it you?

  • I don't mind them at all Damo, I just find amusement* in how they ride.

*interspersed with terror as they perform manouveres that could see them killed

    +1

the sunshine has clearly gone to my head. no doubt in a week i'll be spitting at them all and calling them a cunt.

or "doing a james" as it is better known.

  • I get the opposite... I love the weather but i hate the fucking nobs that come out from under their rocks and take over the road space... You cannot hear a beautiful voice in amoungst the screams

Coming in along the regents canal was a nightmare this morning. Ten deep queues of slow cyclists and it's so narrow you really have to take some risks to overtake and keep a decent pace. MIght have to take the roads to work instead if it gets any worse. A guy clipped me as he was coming towards me on the wrong side whilst overtaking a ped, which was great for the sheer look of fear on his face.

  • a scratched but pretty red, white and chrome SS fixie Track rare!!

Has the Tesco mystery been made into a SS fixie Track rare?? I suppose that was inevitable. Better that it's being used I guess but I'm sure it resents its reincarnation. Bottecchia fail.

  • Yup, I bet it's gutted.

  • My route is carnage when I'm in London. East Dulwich to the Tea Building should be a nice morning ride, instead full of fluro-donning-mud-flapped-tights-wearing fuckwits.

Gotta be a better route than through E&C and over London Bridge?

  • My personal favourite is people who think big gears equates to faster riding. My knees ache just watching some of them pushing massive gears at 30 RPM. The look of confusion as you spin past them on a much lower gear keeps me amused all the way to work.

Indeed, followed by a "You've got gears, bloody use em"

doubt it helps but you never know

  • I think I saw the mysterious disappearing Johan riding a white fixie-skidder across the Whiston Rd/Queensbridge Rd traffic lights this morning.

What time was this? My commute starts at Queensbridge Road then down to Mare street.

  • @ White FLower - eh up lad. I would do Tower Bridge instead if London. There are some smaller streets between East Duwlich and the Bridge - have a look at Grange Rd, Dunton Rd, Sumner Rd, Rye Lane.

  • Will
    Noel Street
    1.31pm
What was that? a Triple take ?

That's what will ALWAYS does, sort of like he's about to take a penalty and trying to put the keeper off.

OK here's my two spots yesterday, both at the same junction, one AM one PM: The junction of Tower Bridge Road and Grange Road, I hardly ever see fixed bikes on that route so Hi.:
AM blondeish woman on black fakenger bike, one pink rim, whist I was trackstanding in the ASL on my grandad fixie you rolled past super slow trying to time it with the lights. I had just trackstanded for about three minutes, wobbling like a fuck.
PM coming the other way, I stop at red, you're a polo playing beanie wearer RLJ / trackstanding in the middle of the traffic, I smile and say Do A Skid! as you get your gap to cross the traffic and ride up the wrong way round the traffic island. Mad in a kerazy hurry to play polo so you have to sit in the middle of the backed up traffic trying to turn right skillz, but no skidz. [/c+]

The sun is out! People are coming out of the woodwork indeed.

  • The sun is out! People are coming out of the woodwork indeed.

I'm not so sure they ever went away, was talking to someone at Souths about it last night... Winter 2009/2010 = More bikes on the road than ever... I wonder how many we'll get this summer? :S

  • With the rental bikes and the cycling schemes being pushed, much more.
I thought it was busy(busier) on the roads this winter aswell

  • Did anyone see me doing a DJ on queenstown Road by Battersea Park this morning?

First I get cut off by two cyclists on the roundabout, one from the right, one from the left. I let them get on the terrible cycle lane and continue on the road.

A Big Bus company driver was behind me getting very close and revving his engine I did a hand signal for him to back off, he didn’t. We stop at a light and he continues to come closer to me. I look at him “what’s the matter” and he points at the cycle path. I tell him that I don’t have to use it. A driver in the car ahead of me gets off and tells me that I should use the cycle path!? Anyway the lights change and I get ahead of them and the Big Bus is stuck behind the car who told me to go on the cycle path because the car can’t go back into the normal lane as the line is completely stationary.

The flock of new cyclists is also very scary.

  • I've started commuting on my bike now it's warmer, and when I get the confidence up I'm going to try riding on the road; the pavements are getting too full of pedestrians now it's not so cold.

  • @ White FLower - eh up lad. I would do Tower Bridge instead if London. There are some smaller streets between East Duwlich and the Bridge - have a look at Grange Rd, Dunton Rd, Sumner Rd, Rye Lane.

Aye soon as I get to know the roads a bit better I'll be avoiding pot-hole hell pal.

Borough high street is like a fucking Royal Rumble in the mornings.

  • More bikes on the road than ever... I wonder how many we'll get this summer? :S

I think we should make some 'One more car t-shirts'...

  • I've started commuting on my bike now it's warmer, and when I get the confidence up I'm going to try riding on the road; the pavements are getting too full of pedestrians now it's not so cold.

Cool, just please make sure you don a fluro vest and try and be as ignorant as possible. No one else needs to use the roads you know? Don't look and put in some headphones.

  • I've started commuting on my bike now it's warmer, and when I get the confidence up I'm going to try riding on the road; the pavements are getting too full of pedestrians now it's not so cold.

You will see it is very easy, just look at what the others cyclists are doing. Ride on the road and if things get stuck, ride on the pavement. Go fast and all the peds will move out of the way. Don't look behind that is just a waste of time and will slow you down.

  • Hey we were all new cyclists at one point or another!Even if they're all over the place

Rather have them than angry drivers

  • Guys, I need some mechanical help; my tires are really flat. How do I make them go pumped-up again?

  • by deflating your head.

  • I think I seen this guy. Runs skinny slicks, and is himself a skinny little fecker? Unfortunately he's a regular sighting on clapham to elephant super nodder grand prix.

..... the world famous AFL dude.

i caught a sneaky glimpse of R_dy at the corner of shit-sticks common this morning.... howdy!

he comes from streatham turns onto kenningto road and keeps going towards elephant. sounds like him.

^@ Damo - that's him, seen him on Kings Ave a few times, he's a bit of an over-competitive little tit. One of those regulars I don't look forward to seeing, .

There's got to be two then, cos one of them lives on Railton Road...

  • I never see anyone on my commute into work accross london's famous london. Am I too early? I used to see spins and pinkgottimobbs but even they have started using a different route to avoid me

I ride past at 8ish now. I do see Raymond nearly every day though.

    Wot he said.

  • time for a "do a james" t shirt?

  • @sorethroat

Yeah, me, stealth lo pro isn't as indestructible as first thought, even Achilles had his heel.....

Had to walk it from elephant, nowhere had a bloody tube and I had decided to empty my bag that very morning.... Sod hath his laws

...you could've stopped, or at least shouted something patronising...
