To be fair, they are both talented so I'm unlikely to be disappointed although yes, I was hoping for Jane Bown. Just a bit of a pirate typo there.

You obviously didn't look hard enough as there were a few smaller sizes. Yes at the moment i have a lot of 36",38",40" as the trendy crowd keep buying them.
Perhaps I should ask someone on the shop's floor? I only saw one rack of tweed garment in the back of the shop. I will be back to browse more thoroughly.

JD, I imagine I'll be through on Saturday morningish. If you see a speccy out of towner bearing a red Ortlieb, it'll probably be me.

I was in Portobello market yesterday . If you try the stalls North of the Westway and up to the Golborne on a friday or a saturday then you may well find some thing there. Saturday is the better day.
If you are in the area , then nip down to either South Ken and the shops near the station or the shops on the Fulham Rd and Kings Road; but don't go further west than the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

JD, had a look round but nothing really in my size/shape unfortunately. As always when visiting Camden I locked up on the railings by the lock outside Ice Wharf. Maybe reckless but I've never had a problem here.
For info, Rokit in Neals Yard have a large stash of about 40 jackets and may trousers and waistcoats at the back on the right. In the end I got a jacket from a retro shop on Mercer St off Long Acre. Just a pair of trousers to get.

o.k,
I have these in my possession, brand new plus 2's, 34 inch waist, very nice riding gear. you can see the label says 22quid, same to you plus postage to London from Bournemouth. pics:-
there is also a suit in the shop, bit special, Harris Tweed 3 piece, tailored by Harold Tilman, its the lightweight tweed, 32 inch waist, soft and beautiful actually, Im even thinking of buyin it and not even a tweed freak...shop is called 'clobber' in Boscombe, he also has a good stock of jackets, but no more suits or trousers like ones shown here.
anyway p.ms if your interested or need to know more.

I was in Norfolk this weekend and found this amazing place. Not secondhand, not cheap but very good value for what they are. The Harris Tweed Fitzrovia looks superb, fantastic example of soft tailoring. They do mail order - in fact they mostly do mail order it seems:

Was in Clobber at the weekend. Some nice plus fours and a lovely suit by Hardy Amis but small far too small. Well worth a look if your in the area and a few other vintage/retro shops in the vicinity as well.

boscome is a good un for charity shopping. if you are in dorset, wimborne and blandford are absolute goldmines usually!
There is a Jane Brown and a Jane Bown. I believe it is Jane Bown, of Observer fame, who has an exhibit at the National Portrait Gallery. I would hate you to be disappointed. :)
