I have been doing a demi-flounce. My lack of cycling over the past seven weeks has made me feel rather underqualified to participate in most discussions on here and my lack of certainty as to when I might ride again, has led me to avoid the Rides and Races section.
I am still seeping. I dripped my way through three days of meetings at the beginning of last week and then went home at lunchtime on Thursday feeling very low and dark spirited and spent the next three and a half days lying on my righthand sidetrying to allow healing to occur. The seeping seemed to be reducing and hope was returning but I have now been in work all day today and have a full schedule this week. I am swollen and once more somewhat dispirited. I see the surgeon on Thursday evening.
At least the wound hasn't become infected this time around. It is very sore with 18 staples holding it together and innumerable stitches and glue inside me. Hopefully, this soreness is all part of healing and it will all suddenly clear up and my bikes will beckon once more. For now, no estimated date of return.
