Unpacked the tent at the weekend. Hanging up in the garage to get some air. It's a LOT bigger and heavier than I remember - a real festival special. Still, should keep the rain off for the night.

Want to split tent poles between our bikes? Seeing as you're providing shelter for me.

just been informed by my mother that it's my gran's 80th birthday AND mother's day....i can't really weasel out of it. (especially after turnin up late last mothers day after no sleep cos i'd done the bridges the night before....haha) for some reason jimbilly wants to come too. i think it was the prospect of all that cake....heh

those tents are pretty good for the price. i had a very similar one from asda that withstood a fair amount of festival abuse! heh. only downside is the single skin, which is not so good in lots of rain. but hopefully the weather will be good by then!

Route is sorted - I think we're going to meet at 9am at Elephant and Castle roundabout.

We're leaving London via Clapham/Tooting/Mitcham, so if anyone south wants to request a further meeting point after E&C please do so.

My plans to find an exciting new route have been thwarted by hills so we're going for the standard Reigate/Turners Hill one. But it's even better because we don't have to go over Ditchling Beacon and from Wivelsfield it's really lovely, all country lanes with hardly any traffic.

We'll be turning left off Tooting High Street onto Mitcham Road, so that corner? It'll be a bit busy but it's a pretty wide pavement.

Am I still alright to stay at Grobags Towers? I'll have a sleeping bag, so I just need a corner to curl up in...

Train would get me in for the evening, if that's alright?
