When it comes to NIKE, at least, believe me, it makes a difference!
All the ones I've got 'made in Thailand/Vietnam' can't even be put together with the 'made in China' ones.... fact. Every single bit of the shoe feels different. i.e. For those who know the AF1 'insideout', I've got a pair made in China (it's actually my only Chinese pair of NIKE)... may have worn them no more than 10 times, all the side panels feel like they are coming loose at the stitching, they just feel rubbish.
what he said x 1,000,000. the AM1 is exactly the same. all this shit about margins. the AM1 used to be £70. now you're lucky to find a pair under £90 and the viet/thai stuff is rare vs the chinese. i took back some air max current huarache's the other week (made in china) cos they pretty much exploded...seams split...total crap.

if it says 'nike' and 'made in china' beware
