Looks like I'm out there on a 2 week business trip starting next week. Anything else fun to do that's not already on here? I will have wheels (considering renting a Harley instead of a compact ford...)

My brother's Peter Pan show opens there soon, not sure of dates though...

do people still pretend they didn't like Mash SF when they first saw it?
sounds good over there, my sister was going to move there and then didn't. this is exactly why i've since filed for divorce. -

Don't leave your heart there is my advice.
The Beach Boys were full of shit. Californian Girls are bitches!

I love SF, used to go every year thanks to work, but not been there for many years :-(
Hanging around Chinatown is a must also, so many damn nice places to eat. Also just around Union Square and Downtown area is an excellent place to just hang out.
Definitely worth venturing out to Muir Woods, the are load of bike trails. Bike Routes Map. If your not taking your bike with you there are plenty of places to hire from too. It is also worth venturing across the Bay to Berkeley. There is also a national park fairly close by, Mt Diablo NP (about a 3 hour drive if I remember correctly!) which also has some trails. I agree about some of the other posters sentiments about Pier 39/Fisherman's Wharf - but you can't go to SF and not visit them!
From Fisherman's Wharf either take the Bay Tour or the Ferry across to Sausalito, give you a chance to see SF from the water, plus excellent views of the GG and Bay Bridge.
On the shopping front, SF has everything you could need on Main St or nearby. Timbuk2 used to have a factory outlet in the SoMA which was great for picking up their wonderful messenger bags cheaply. I remember I once bought 10 back for friends and family, got a damn good deal. They now have a proper store so not sure if it still cheaper than ordering online or from other retailers.

Within minutes of being in the city, I saw a dude footjamming a leader with macaframa sticker down a super steep hill.
Beautiful weather out here

I know you're in Palo Alto- Facebook told me....
Thats my hometown, not SF....
If you pass Walter Hays Drive, that's where we lived.
The last time I was out there I stayed at a mates- next to Castelleja (probably misspelt) school.Try and get yourself on the bioluminescence Kayak trip.... its worth it.

I'm staying near there. But then, everywhere is near everywhere else in Palo Alto - it's nto such a big place.
Bioluminescence kayak trip sounds stunning - where do they do those? Will have to be saved for next time though - snowed under with work on this trip.

Looks cool, will try to fit it in next time.
I can't remember any, but pretty much everything I ever did in the Bay Area was informed by Yelp: http://www.yelp.com/
Extremely useful!
