• I think McQueen was a fantastic designer, all his collections are wearable in my opinion, infinitely more so than many other contemporary designers. It was him that got me into fashion, and i find his story inspirational.
Not everyone has a tyrant to fight, or a cause to die for. At least he did something that enriched other peoples lives, and you cannot deny that he did indeed enrich other peoples lives. Art is as valuable as democracy, they are very closely linked.

yes art is important but what is art and I am not convinced by your argument that McQueen he 'enriched lives.' Perhaps you should have a closer look at the reality of life today with sprialling world poverty and the recent Haiti earthquake springs to mind. The cult of personality is an intellectual cul-de-sac and McQueen et all sum it up.

And yes, I agree value and decency does not reside alone in those who fought tyranny and injustice [they rank highly in my book] look at the work of nurses, carers and volunteers etc etc; now they do enrich the lives of others.....many, many others, now could the same be said of Mr McQueen? No!

Now did you notice, I diagreed with you without making any personal comments about you or using expletives.
