- Jelousy - directed against corporate emporiums run by Jews (in. like textile manufacturers in Lodz for example)
- Association - under the Sanacja right wing regime, some associated Jews with Bolshevicks, especially during the 1920 campaing
- Catholic propaganda - an obvious one, about Jews being greedy while lending money (the only trade the were allowed to take on through the centuries and after being encouraged by Holy Roman Emperor to do so - they were not allowed to own farms or become part of craft guilds)
- Right wing politicians needed a scapegoat during the global financial crisis, especially in countries which were based on agriculture and very little of industry - with huge poverty - Jews=Bolsheviks=revolution=going under the management of Soviet Union.
Are you a Jew hater then?

Who was driving - London cabbie?
I see your wife has let you loose at the keyboard again.
You seem to make fun at the death of my family members during WWII which to me seems a tad nasty on your side.

Poland, Mother from Lwow which was Poland in 1939 but is now in the Ukraine. Had the usual knock on the door at midnight told two hours to pack and was shipped out to Siberia. Stalinists, Nazi's Russian's I hate them all. Mother was eventually in the WRAF, Father Merchant Navy (invasion of Italy and Africa, Atlantic Convoys), Uncle flew Lancansters on bombing runs over Germany and another family member fought at Monte Casino.
I believe and still believe the Stalinist invasion of Poland was a disgrace and is a major blot on the history of the USSR....it was an appaling attack on the people of Poland...it included members of the Polish Communist party...a disgrace.
But i applaud your family....Monte Casino was a vicious killing match....its funny people only ever talk about Normandy and how they were such heroes but the guys in Italy, Bomber Command [now seen as murders] and the Merchant Navy are forgotten along with those who fought in the far east....some of mine were in Bomber Command and other Navy...my dad was a medic....in Normandy as and my father in law was in the RA in Normandy...but nothing like Monte Cassino....an uncle in the first war was in the merchant navy and on leave was given a white feather...he was sunk four times by German U-boats but survived. I take my hat to your uncle who flew in Lancs over Germany.....for my MA i did a dissertation on Bomber Command and dedicated it to the memory of the 55,000 who died.....so cheers to your family.

Every day there is 'discussion' about the merit of starting threads, every single day
Oh, of course--although it's mostly about silly threads, not about one meant to be quite serious, surely?
and it is often these discussions that are the most personal and abusive; as you well know from the last couple of days alone.
What happened? I haven't had much forum time, just dipped into and out of threads.
The point I was making was, I think, was about realising that just because someone is a particular 'hero' of your's it doesn't mean they merit their own thread when there is an already existing RIP thread. I guess it's about perspective.
Probably. I don't know, I suppose I might well start a separate thread if someone died and it affected me, but others might not. It's always going to be a bit random. I've certainly found the occasional thread very interesting where someone posted about someone I'd never heard about.

It wasn't from the political point of view. Governed by a right wing regime which took power during a military coup Commonwealth of Poland (then including parts of Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine) was a natural enemy to both Russian and Soviet interest.
Anyway, if your hero is Trotsky, you should know about the permanent revolution. To most communists move westwards was just a step toward European Soviet State (just like now radical Muslims would like to spread their influence west to create a caliphate over here). Of course Stalin didn't give a damn about the second stage of revolution and rather dreamt about a new Russian empire (strange, as he was a Georgian which always strongly opposed Russians and communism - great analogy to Hitler who was also an outsider).

Given there are six dots after each of the words in your previous post, you could say that there were two ellipses after each word...
oh my god, I have become Ollie
Try selecting only a single dot in my ellipsis.

Sorry made a mistake it was Wellingtons in 305 Squadron and some of his friends flew in 303 Squadron out of Northolt.
Sorry to hear about the white feather and I hope history rectified that.
My father also sailed on Arctic convoys which from what my Mother told me was a death sentence.
Horrific times.
