I've understood the first one was pretty crap, techwise, but the characters were fucking awesome.
I interviewed the producer and lead designer of the game before they had anything else than the teaser to show. Never did get to play the game -- although I wanted to (changed jobs and had no then-next-gen consoles). Might pick it up for a few notes used, at some point. Or then again, I might not. Unless the sequel requires you to have played the first game, could do w/o the loss of hair caused by crappy controls and bad context sensitivity.
