I have, reluctantly, come to the conclusion that my cat is as dumb as a box of hair.

On Thursday, I am getting a new cat. That'l learn it.

To elaborate on my response to lynx: I'm guessing that lnyx's claim is based on poorly sourced, gas-gussler apologist "research" piece from 2007.

Specifically, that the Prius is less "environmentally friendly" that a Hummer.

The claims were specious, and disingenuous compiled. The Prius might not be the saintly earth saver that it is marketed as, but only the most credulous would take the article on faith alone.

Plus the brakes don't work, so it'll reduce your carbon footprint rather quickly if you drive over cobbles on a wet day....
