Private is much better, I smashed my heal into six peices and the NHS doctor said the only thing that could be done was to fuse the ankle joint so I would have no movement at all in my left ankle (he also said I would definatly not cycle again, ever). I was covered by my old mans BUPA and went private. It still gives me jip in the cold 12 years on but with a big metal plate in my foot sortted out by a propper heal specialist did wonders. I dread to think what my life would have been like had I not been lucky enough to have that oporation.
