Have you tried switching it off and on again?*
*I'm only half joking here. If you're running adsl or something you might have some luck turning off the router, waiting a minute and turning it back on again.
Also, try going speedtest.net and pingtest.net and posting the results here.
Do you know what sort of connection you have? Us IT geeks love information.. we need it.. please be posting it..
Who's your provider? Go Start > Run and type 'cmd'. Hit enter. Type 'tracert www.google.co.uk' and grab the output. Post it here.

More info needed is it ADSL or a Cable router if its ADSL the filter may have deteriorated. Do you have the installation documented with all the relevant settings and passwords written down? (I bet not)
If we dont hear from you within 30 mins we'll assume your network is down.
How much are you paying?

Get ready to laugh at my complete lack of comp knowledge....
We have 3 boxes
Cisco 800 Box - Which I assume is the router, this has been rebooted twice today and has made no difference.
Fortinet Box - I assume this is for our forticlient, I have not tried switching this off.
DGS-VL880 Box - No idea what this is but it looks like it is something to do with the phone system. Will post other info as soon as I get it.
Thanks so much for help.

Check the connection between the Cisco 800 and the telephone socket. Does it have a filter are the wires frayed is the socket loose or damaged?

Yes. Our server is actually based in Switzerland but assuming this wont be the issue as it is our internet connection that is the problem.

There's a space between tracert and www.google.co.uk
Do you have an account that is 'shaped' (ie. slows down) when you go over a certain download limit?

Hmm.. doesn't look too bad but again I'm no expert on this shit. Ours is quite a bit quicker between hops here.
How many users do you have? Could someone be download large volumes and taking your bandwidth?
Do you have any bandwidth monitoring tools available? -

Seriously though, are there no network geeks on here?

I know they don't provide your support but you could ring them and ask them for their current service status.
URGENT - Any freelance IT guys willing to offer your services.....?
I work for a very small company nr Paddington. We are currently having major internet problems, internet is really slow and constantly loosing connection. We thought we had IT support from the original guys who installed it but they ended the support after 1 year and are now trying to charge us stupid money to come out and have a look. The line has been checked a number of times so I am assuming it may be a problem with the cabling or router.
If you think you can help with this or can recommend a reliable IT company please PM me.
Cheers
