Ha, I worked in aviation for a while, the welding there was something else. You had to get reaccredited as a capable welder every six months or something, and rightly so. Smooth like butter. An old boy set me up with a welder, and I blew straight through the first twenty pieces of scrap I tried to weld together.
I'd say "don't confuse form with function", but given the lo-pro / risers epidemic, I'm clearly wasting my breath.
