those are exactly what ive been missing!
-

thats actually about as good looking as most clipless get.
nuknow is right....clipless shoes that look good are like women that respond well to logic and reason. you think that out of all the ones out there, there must be one. but alas, there is not.

Ha!
Never!... It's a Un-brogued... Brogue : )
I quite prefer it like this.
I guess the title brogue comes more from the silhouette/style. -

ahem...shouldn't they go in the 'shoe' thread?
wearing those i could not:
a) look like a chav/whopper (to use a pisti phrase...afterall its his thread)
b) complete a 100 yard dash in a respectable timei.e. they aint trainers bruv

I have worn a pair of "old skool skate lo" vans as my main pair of shoes for the past 5 years.
They fitted my feet extremely well, worked perfect for cycling, didnt get to hot on hot days yet had a decent sole on them unlike plimsole like things.
They were pretty much my most favourite shoes I have ever owned.
Needless to say they were pretty worn out, so I bought a new pair. But this new pair seems very very different from my old ones. The fit/shape seems like it designed for super wide/chunky feet. Even with the laces done up as tight as they go, the shoes feel all baggy at the toes and midfoot, but also a bit at the heel. Yet with the laces done up this tight, the ankly bit is really tight, so I cannot slide them on and off without loosening all the laces.
The shape just seems really odd and poorly proportioned, like I said they must be for super wide chunky feet.
They are also made in China, unlike the Phillipines my old ones were.
Does anybody know if this new style/fit has replaced the older ones? Are they even the same model?

instinct says its the made in china thing for sure. nike moved some of their manufacturing from vietnam and thailand to china and the new shoes are shitty. original vans were always a super skinny fit. perfect for better board feel and control when skating. really nice shoe. they have gone super mainstream though recently no? really taken off. i wonder if that has anything to do with it, and if they are purposely wider to be more like a nike 6.0...also everywhere.
