Re: Halifax adverts, life went downhill fast for Howard after those ads. Originally he was an employee and was plucked from the ranks for his cheerfulness and singing abilities. He had a good run and even released his own version of Barry White's 'Your the first, the last, my everything'.
Even whilst still doing the adverts Howard's dark side was starting to rear it's head though and there were rumours around Birmingham of diva like behaviour, drink and drugs which culminated in his arrest in 2007 for exposing himself whilst straddling the 'Forward' statue in Centenary Square and shouting "I'll Give you Extra" at passers by.
Since the Halifax dropped him because they felt he was giving out the wrong message of cheerfulness as the economy has slumped he has apparently been spotted trying to set fire to a bin outside a Halifax branch by using his glasses as a magnifying glass. Poor love.
