Maybe i got the wrong impression of Plastic People when i was there,
from what i remember, the negative points were,
-the £8 to £10 quid entry
-the £5-£6+ drinks!?
-the pretentious crowd - come on, don't tell me they flock there for the good sound system
-the lighting!? wtf, as if being blind drunk wasn't hard enough, I was blind drunk in the pitch darki just thought it wasn't that anything special for the prices
but i've only been once -

Maybe i got the wrong impression of Plastic People when i was there....
but i've only been once-the £8 to £10 quid entry I've never paid there (only once, to see Moodyman)
-the £5-£6+ drinks!? Really?... Beer FTW.
-the pretentious crowd - come on, don't tell me they flock there for the good sound system Err... yes, each to his own. Where in London (or the World for that matter) will you go out to a place with serious people!!?? C'mon...
-the lighting!? wtf, as if being blind drunk wasn't hard enough, I was blind drunk in the pitch dark That's just brilliant. I used to be right at the left when you stept into the dance floor, next to the curtain. Pitch black, nothing in your way but darkness and sound.
You only need special effects when the stunt is impossible. There's no stunts there. -

fair enough, don't get me wrong, i'm just saying it wasn't my cup.
it was definately about 8 quid in, a saturday night, don't think it was anything special just a normal night-
it took me most of the night to realise the beer was cheap and everythin else was through the roof -

Rhythm Factory and The End (now closed) are the best clubs I've been to.

I've never been one for clubs at all, much prefer a nice quiet grandad pub where I can get a comfy chair, be able to hear whoever I'm with talking, and get a drink without having to wait at the bar, joy.

Same, I only go to clubs if there's a specific DJ/artist playing, but that's more like going to a gig than a club night. Much prefer a nice pub, probably because I grew up in Yorkshire

I think it's a young person's world. I've done Home, Heaven, The End, Turnmills, Malibu Stacey's, Ministry, Fabric etc in my youth. Not to mention abroad! A lot of happy memories. Let the next generation have their fun. Now I just like listening to obscure Techno. On the bus.

Depends where you live.
Lock from pedal to spokes will certainly stop you riding it. In many places that is all you need/excessive. think Japan or the Netherlands..
-

the chain was barely around the pedal it could have been lifted off and besides the chain was so flimsy it could have been cut with a pair of pliers.

QR front wheel too.

You know, Teddy Boys- long jackets, drain-pipe trousers, brothel creepers, quiffs; The End was full of them.
(any one else remember the Orbit, Morley... now there was a club...)

Maybe they are the true victor in that they have not lost all trust & faith in fellow humans?
*probably not, but like I said in Japan, that is legit if not overkill locking.

that's one of them homeopathetic locking systems…

Indeed, seems to work in far away countries and is difficult to explain why.

i remember ultimate base at the velvet rooms, jimbos night
was on the permanent guest list, so many fridays destroyed
ig playing down at plastic, those were the days after coop relocated from velvet rooms
for bottom end plastic has the best sound in london
for fidelity its the lucky cloud/batb/loft party sound, klipschorn speakers and valve amps, custom modded turntables, handmade e&s mixer etc
The only thing me and you agree on Ordy ;-)
