I test rode charge and langster. I thought Charge rode better and was better suited to taking punishment (riding it on my commute everyday) so went with that one even though the langster looks better.
Just got to echo what everyone else on here has said, just ride them and see which one you prefer but I guarentee after about a week of riding you will want to start building your own.

Or if not at least start upgrading the one you already own. Thats my favourite way to do things then when you want a new frame just strip the old frame down and put all the bits on it.

If you hasn't change the stock tyres, that'll make a huge difference.
Cheers Ed; everything but the BB, cranks, chain ring and seatpost were different by the time it wouldn't go into a big cardboard box three hours before my flight and was consequently abandoned in my parents' cellar... :(
But you're quite right, the stock tyres and wheels on my 08(?) racer were pretty rubbish.

Having not ridden a singlespeed before I found the Langster 2010 a pretty good starting point. I appreciate people's objection to its mass-produced style and its looks, but for someone looking to spend around that mark I think it's as good a starting point as any. It climbs well and handles sharpish, and after about 500 miles it's hardly needed any repairs.

OK, so I have decided on the Langster steel after weeks of looking around. I tried a few others, plug racer was the main contender until I tried the langster. I am getting the bike on the ride to work and because I originally wanted the plug will have some cash left over. I have already got some spds off my mountain bike but was hoping to replace the bars and stem. Still can't get used to drop bars so was hoping to get some airwing 40 cm... I will still have £100 left over, don't really want to waste so any recomendations for any other upgrades would be really appreciated

That is indeed good news. From what I've read the frame is pretty decent so was hoping to build on that. Was originally going to just buy frame ad forks and buy bits but 'On Your Bike' said it couldn't be done on the RTW.. hopefully this will be a good option

No one was objecting the Langster due to it's mass produced style and it's looks, only objected the awful 'city' version, like the London one.
This is the exact question I was about to ask, I've ridden the Plug but prefer the wheels on the freestyler and the Langster...
then just change the rims, simple as that.

Had a 2010 langster and it was pretty sweet, could be quite juttery over reasonably even ground though, going up the mall from trafalgar square would always leave me a bit jarred for instance... Could have just been the transition from a GT Zaskar with squidgy front forks though. I tried the plug as well when I got the langster and preferred the langster, felt more nimble, lighter and generally more fun to ride.

Damn it all!!!!!!!! Went to On Your Bike today to order the Langster and they dont stock them!!!!!!
OK gone for the Genisis Flyer, not keen on the graphics but a good OTP.... hope so!! -
