I run an £8 Nexus chain and it's been fine for some time now.
I lube with whatever I piss on the bike when I'm caught short leaving a pub*.
*I actually use Finish Line Cross Country and that ceramic Finish Line on good bikes.
Cleaning your chain is more important than lubing it. I bet you fuckers don't clean your chains properly. I know I don't.
