  • Shut up, Seb...

  • 5 minutes with a spoke wrench and that will be like new.

    i apologize, what about this?

  • i apologize, what about this?

I believe that was what is known as a 'joke'.

  • I only know one joke which Scorch would appreciate:

не извести в "Правде", и нет правды в "Известиях"!
There's no news in Pravda, and there's no truth in Izvestia!
My, how we laughed at that one in Russian classes.

  • right...
perfect case of sarcasm recognition fail performed by me this time
i will let my post hang there for a little while, let the humiliation continue...

  • not getting this one either ^^
    not my night i guess

  • Crane: Should of got a proper street worthy front wheel. (Half joke half serious).

  • they were not gonna be used everyday is the worst part, i was just testing them to see how they rode

  • well, you found out !

  • i was just testing them to see how they rode

You could have just asked. I had one of the first pairs in the country and have been riding them ever since, although I obviously haven't subjected them to the same stringent tests that you have.

  • Cheers for the offer but if I do go for bmx cranks then i'd go for a black chainring, thanks anyway.

    Hey dude

I got a black 38T saturn ring? and black chain pimp ring protector?

    PM me if interested.

  • ally steerer... tut tut

    Errrr....?

Would you rather it was wood?

  • Got to say Pistanator, your Bianchi is looking pretty damn nice!
    What forks are they?

  • The ones that came with the f&f set, I think they're just debadged Alpinas. They used to have 'Bianchi' decals on but wet n dryed 'em off

  • Errrr....?

Would you rather it was wood?

obvously full carbon forks, i expected more from someone like you

  • Its been a productive weekend...

Dawes Town/Beater rolling and *almost *finished. Just need to workout how to setup and mount the rear dynamo light, sort out mudguards, change chainring, and put on 28c gumwalls when they come in the post.

Coaster brakes are allot wierder than I thought they'd be...esp. when pulling away.

Cheers to everyone who helped supply the varrious parts - esp. baybutt and maxcrow for the cheap rims and skully for the saddle.

Half tempted to put a rack on... but also like the clean look at the mo...opinons?

  • ...My Robert's is also rolling, but still needs more work:

Full DA 7700 groupset... just need the front mech and then sort out the layout, brakes, etc.

[It looks allot better in the flesh]

  • Continuing the Roberts theme he's my Salmon pink Chas that I've just about finished.

    TA cyclotouriste with 47t ring
Shimano/Mavic ma2 wheels off my last bike(still got tons of life in em)
    Cheap aero seatpost
    My old chopped Brooks
Unknown bars and cheap old GB stem
Fugly as hell gold weinemann brakes.
    MKS pedals
A nice blend of cheap-ass and used crap making for some serious anti. That said it rides like a dream and I couldn't be happier with how it came out.
The tyres will be gone and replaced with paselas by the end of the week. And yes, it's fixed with 2 brakes - I like to ride on the hoods so it seemed daft not to have both(think of me as the anti-scoble)

  • At last got hold of the frame I wanted for a long time Charlton flyer I would like an older 50T chainring though.

    dibs.

  • Finished this a few weeks ago, finally found time to get both bike and camera out at the same time.

  • ^ seriously sweet.

Altho I'm suprise that you didn't line tyre logos with valve caps... shame as I *was *just about to post the pic on the porn thread ;)

  • who wants to give their opinion on different brands of cogs? a bit off topic for 'current projects' I know but this is where the bike boffins usually gather on Sundays so worth a shot.

so far I am finding halo, miche, surly and phil mentioned a lot. but searching the forum didn't throw up a lot of comparative discussions. and the prices (except the phils) are too close to say "you get what you pay for".

  • For some reason, I was just off with the logos. It rides nicely, even though it's 5lb heavier than my Look, the position and contact points are identical, and I'm not convinced I could tell the difference on a short ride, as opposed to the "pick it up in the car park" test. Not quite as smooth, but pretty good for 1/3 of the price.

  • who wants to give their opinion on different brands of cogs?

I've tried most of them, including the £60 EAI TiN coated ones, and Phil are best. Super smooth and quiet.
