  • yeah. i'd love to do that. but i can't get purchase on the bolts.
also. my crank puller isn't working on the cranks. it appears not to fit.
    it's one of these:

    helps?

you need as special ta/stronglight one you can get it on ebay. same applies for the bolts

  • Picked this up off Gumtree for £289.

  • Think you may have payed a little over the odds...

  • An on going project. Got the wheels built up yesterday with my new Halo AeroWarrior rims. All I need now is some white bmx cranks I think they'd go nicely. Can't decide whether to get black or white open prison bars though..

  • Diggin the 'blue'

White bars to match the forks and seatpost clamp.

That's what I was thinking but if I go for white crankset aswell thought it might be a bit too matching. I need bars more than I need cranks right now so I think I'll go for the white ones.

  • Are you getting white BMX crank arms like Profile? coz if you do, get a black sprocket. That would look cool.

But yeah, white bars black grips definitely on the blue thing

  • Diggin the 'blue'

If that was aimed at me cheers. I'm still yet to see another cutter built up in the same colour, everyone i've seen is raw or the glow in the dark one.

  • Graham just needs some drops fella... ;p

Pisti rides the same bike as Mal? Well, you learn something every day.

  • anyone know anything about this old saddle

    came off a mercian

  • Looks like a Super Coureur.

  • Not sure, do you have a bigger photo we could see?

Yeah something like that, I've found some gusset cranks and they come in 165mm which could help slightly with barspin overlap and they are only £60ish, probably end up getting a profile chainring unless I find some another nice ones in 42tooth. Don't really want to have to buy a new sprocket aswell otherwise i'd go done to 39/36 with a 15 on the back.

Edit. these ones, nothing special but they'll be fine for a while.

  • Super Coureur.

Not sure what the fascination is with an old plastic saddle personally.

I agree about the colours - white bars/black grips, white cranks/black chainring.
Should finish it off just nicely.

  • it says super coureur on it ,

if you click on my thumbnail you should be able to zoom in to the detail

any idea how old it might be and was it a decent saddle in its day

    shall try it out tomorrow

  • 70's

  • Yeah SP, if you click on the pic it'll give more detail!

  • unless I find some another nice ones in 42tooth.

I've got a lightly used 42t DMR Saturn in silver you can have for a tenner.

  • Carbon wheels are SOOOOoooo '08 so I've gone back to basics.

Nice Pistanator, I'm quite partial to a bit of Alu myself. Vertex Chain? love the silence it gave me

  • @The Crane

There's a few Alpha Q forks going for a good price on US EBay. These are 440g with carbon steerer. A little heavier than alot of full carbon road forks, but I hear the stiffness and reliability compensate for this. I'll tempted by one myself (older graphics too).

  • The Concept is looking good reminds me of Kyle's bike from DQM

Is that how BMX cranks work, then? With the little bolt to hold them to the crank and stop them spinning?
