Hehe... just thought I'd put some Dire Straits on. Haven't heard them in years. I've got 60,000 songs on my computer, but apparently not a single track by them. Oh well.

Great send off for the man and do it with a proper forum ride was great ; a small crash, a stack, lots of traffic held up and DJ yelling at a driver. No P*******s though.
Yesterday made me proud to be a part of this forum - that has been happening a lot lately. I am a better person for knowing all of you, Paul especially. For being a group of people that always do the right thing in a world that doesn't always do the right thing - I thank you.

Actually the track playing when they brought Fiddy into the chapel was Pink Floyd - Bike.

Not having any Dire Straits in your song library is no bad thing... You forgot Bike by Syd's Pink Floyd at the start, alien... Awesome! :]

Fantastic send off for Paul, hope Jim & John are alright can't believe they stopped serving at 10! Though luckily the Coach & Horses took us in for a few (and let us play operation!).
All in all, a fantastic day.

It's testament to the bloke that we could all have a good time after Paul's funeral.
This hangover's for you Fiddy. :)
I'd like to thank James and Em for two very moving speeches, Wayno for the coolest coffin ever and everyone else behind the scenes sorting stuff out - Dropout, alien, clefty, anyone/everyone else involved. You're a special bunch.

so, jim is now on his way home finally! the bike was not as bad as it looked to me last night apparently, but the cold probably clouded my judgement! (and the thought of trying to ghost it home through old street traffic probably didnt help....haha) some popped spokes, but the frame is ok, it lives!! after a sobering night in the cells jim said that they both decided to not press charges (from what i understand there was probably fault on both sides...heh) but hopefully this experience will make the taxi driver think twice before driving like a wanker next time!

when i woke up i thought of paul. a little sadness crept in.
but then it is so nice and sunny outside. a good day to be happy and riding.

shit the bed what the hell just happened?!
what a great send off, ive never cycled home so hammered!! i think fiddy would be proud!! good work to everyone that had a hand organising today, it was a brilliant send off.
so i am currently so fucking cold i can barely type. move my toes, and have a major headache. coming down the hipster spice route this eve, i lose jim in the traffic and come across him east side of old street roundabout, with his bike under a fuckin taxi?! hes still standing, but the taxi is trying to leave, so i call the pigs, tell them my boyf just got knocked off his bike and the car is trying to leave the scene, frantically scribble the number plate on my hand....
i think jim is mostly alright, but his ankle/leg seem fucked, neither of his wheels go round in the right direction anymore... hes now enroute to a cop staton in shoreditch somewhere so tey can take a statement, but they might have to wait for the morn when hes sober or something, apologies for the atrocious typing, i have been stood in the freezing cold for so lng i have lost the use of all my lmbs... FUCK. i hope he is ok, he doesnt have a phone with him, and i feel terrible for not going with him to the station but i had been stood in the road for about 40 minutes, and i have lost all judgement. i just wanted to go home and get warm. fuckfuckfuck.
not only did he crash the hearse, he crashed himself! i like to think fiddy is chuckling away to hiself, and i know this is gonna hurt int he morning....
Ah, makes more sense now.
Looking forward to Jim's telling of it ;)

wow, that really was garbled! hah! it was probably nowhere near as dramatic as i made out, especially as i was convinced i was going to die of cold by the time i got home....hehehehe

^ How do I manage to look so handsome all the time?
^^ Echo Echo to all the loving expressed above.
For a bunch of contrary forum geeks, we really do make a great group of people in the flesh.
Thank you everybody.

indeed - I listed 'the plan' - which didn't happen as the Mark Knopfler CDs hadn't arrived - Hugh had a great idea to play that track anyway, so wtf etc :)
very very kewl.

A few things:
Did Mack get home ok?
Left him curled up on dancing James' floor with a blanket over him.

Blimey, a legitimate and legal music downloading service has made a lot of money out of you, hasn't it?
;)
Glad to see that the whole shebang went off with plenty of hitches. Crashes, lost possessions, screaming matches with drivers, nights in cells. All very appropriate for a forum event.

Hey kids. Dont worry it'll take more than an old cunt in a taxi to get ride of me. But if you are going to fight back against a taxi just remember they have a very tight turning circle and if they want to get you they will. And I can tell you that the cells in Shoreditch police station are not that bad, but the food look's like it was puked up by a donkey.
Apart from my mishap last night, yesterday was really nice. It was good to see so many people turn out to see fiddy off proper like.
Jimbilly.
Oh, and I still think it was the old scrote him self who made me crash into little john, with a side wind. Git.
Ah, that explains why I thought it sounded like a band who really really really wanted to be Dire Straits.
