  • sounds good

  • I'll be there (ali should be too) but neither of us will be riding. Just drinks and pork scratchings for us.

  • If anyone ever fancies a nice, not too strenuous 20 miles, train to Corbridge then riding home is top notch. Or when you haven't had a session the night before, the whole loop would be good.

Some pics of our ride Saturday here, http://camerasandcranksets.wordpress.com/2010/01/24/blasting-off-the-cobwebs/

So good to get back out into the country. Still hit a couple of gnarly iced over paths though!

  • geared ride, sunday?

  • You have gears?

  • You have gears?

buying a work mate's bike off him - thinking about training and doing some touring (although i'd need to buy a tourer for that as the guy's bike isn't really suited to touring) as i've fucked my elbow and shoulder from climbing so i want something else to focus on in the mean time.

  • just checked the weather for sunday. looks dry but cold as fook. you got your thermals looked out?

i might even invest in some bib tights!

  • its the cold feet that are the killer. mine were like ice blocks after 50 miles on sunday.

  • Glad to hear it Andy, Newcastle LFGSS long distance club is coming along nicely this year. Any chance of Saturday afternoon instead though? Guess you'll be working...

In other news, I haz Moser.
She's so purdy, sat in front of me at work, taunting.

yeah it's got to be a sunday for me.

really want to push some big miles this season, maybe even have a go at a fixed century.

also thinking of maybe doing a bit of touring in france at easter so i need to get my arse in gear!

  • Still in the process of building my road bike. Sounds like I need to get a move on.

100% doing Newcastle to Berwick century again in summer. Probs fixed again tho.

  • so where we heading/what route/where we meeting/who's coming.

reet excited even if i know its going to hurt.

also, i bit the bullet and invested in bib tights - its a strong look.

  • its a strong look.

Esp if you wear only bib tights

it's going to be done when it warms up, that's a promise.

  • Hey did i here about a ride on sunday???? I could do with some miles.

Hey nefarious,i'll be on "big bertha" thw tourer if you wanna try it out?

  • im up for a ride on sunday. i do a route out along the tyne to wylam. then cut up north and loop back round to newcastle. its quite a good route and about 50 miles.....
would people be up for that? might put a bit of single malt in my water bottle for a bit of McWarmth.

i think we should go further. . . (bad idea?)

  • has that beard given you super-human strength?

  • Anyone keen for a smaller fixed ride? 20 miler? i liked the look of that ride that marc did

This sounds more my kind of distance, Tom ;)
Are you thinking Sunday, or some other day(Trains?)?

  • yeh id do a 20 miler fixed

  • has that beard given you super-human strength?

no but my boring arsed job makes me want to put the extra effort in on my day off, even if it does end me up out of my depth haha.

but to be honest i'm game for whatever and i'm likely to be a weaker member of the group so it's probably best i leave the route setting to you! (but if you do fancy a long ride we could jump on the train to berwick and bike back to newcastle - its about 85 miles i think)

  • do you not need to book on train first?

  • do you not need to book on train first?

i've always done it same day, as long as there aint a big group - it's no problem.
