So, Ukrainians are not Russians, Indians are not English. Empires tend to rape and exploit their dominions :-) Soviets were well known for stealing technologies for their own use and making them even more awkward.
It's nice to acknowledge the real labour force and resources behind their projects. Be it in bike/car production or photographic/optical equipment.
