This review has thrown me into indecision. Can I really wait for the Nexus One. Do I want to?
Agggghhh. This is all not helped by my ancient E650 falling to pieces and me absolutely hating my HTC Touch Diamond, for which Mazuma Mobile will give £75 n cold hard cash.

go to t-mobile and play with a HTC HD2, its the windows version of the nexus one, pretty much same size, screen etc. when i played with the one badtmy was testing a few weeks back i was impressed and i don't like touch screens normally.

I agree with the above, why would anyone want a tablet, I've got my g1,laptop, work computer all online when would I fit a tablet in there too? They will be bloody pricey and its not the kind of thing id want to throw into my bag willy nilly like I would a paper book. I also feel funny when handling things which look that flimsley. Fall off your bike and it'll probably snap!

doh, just had look at specs. HTC HD2 runs a monster 4.3" screen compared to nexus 1 3.9", also its doesn't have the track ball.
shit, now o2, are stocking HD2's. argh, bigger screen, windoze and less stuff around or wait for N1?!?!

Nexus One screen is 3.7inches, compared to the 4.3incher you refer to.
A noticable difference.

Great comparison of the nexus One and the Milestone. The video is very useful to get a feel for them both:

this image alone and playing with one have sold me to the darkside

I was sooooo close to getting that HD2 instead of the Hero but Windows Mobile put me off in the end... Too 'dark' for me...
Just get one and be done with it, Dale... -

if had had a pc or laptop at home i would go for hero or nexus one, but i like the bigger screen and simpler feel (plus o2 is doing it now, good deal £30 p/m)

You could always sell it on to Murtz a coupla weeks later if you didn't like it... Oh, hang on... :o

i was a disappointed with the galaxy to be honest.

I felt the same about the HD2 :)
Still, the Galaxy was always a temporary measure until the newer stuff came out.. that's why I bought it outright combined with cheap Simplicity plan.
Nexus One does multi-touch with hack..

Murtle, I've flashed your phone. It looks like it still works so you'd better get it before I experiment with Android 2.0 ROMs...

Quite tempted to get an Xperia X10, what think you all?

See my comment above, I would never buy Sony mobile hardware again. Lovely kit but so horribly proprietary. My Sony Vaio laptop would only bluetooth pair with a Sony bluetooth device. By design, as documented.
Ridiculous.

I've never had the problems with Sony that Mashton had; in fact, my Satio is near-flawless. I'd buy either the X10 or the Milestone.
Though hippy did make a good point about the X10's spec. But the screen size still wins for me. -

Yes, to be fair to Sony, that experience was a one off, and I have other Sony products that I love, specifically my MiniDisc deck and my DVD player.
YMMV
By the way, who remembers that film about the lunatics working for an advertising firm and coming up with the advert: "Sony ..... Bony".
Love it.

So any release date over here for the Nexus yet? I'm getting bored of waiting..

T-Mobile are offering a free Hero with 1000mins and unlimited texts for £25pcm... Offer ends 31st Jan... Think internet is an extra £5... Not a bad deal...

Dunno. Anyone going to the US any time soon?
Are all Motorolas bad? I don't think I've ever owned one, yet I've been a mobile user/customer since 1993.
As for Motorola going bust, you're right that their handset business is not in the best shape, but the rest of the Motorola
telecoms business model doesn't seem bad. The handset business has been loss-making for years, hasn't it? Astute call on your part.
