  • Me baking a cake. Thought I could cut some corners and bought vegetable fat (for pastry) instead of butter/marg, it didn't really mix in too well with the rest of the mixture but I thought it would be ok once in the oven. My 'cake' is now being fried from the top by a nice pool of bubbling vegetable fat.

    My sister bakes about two cakes a week and always uses just regular vegetable oil.
