Well, he does have a point, but it's entirely possible to feel a minor difference, for instance, the flex on the BB shell, the 'slow' handling of a relaxed geo frame, the difference between a steel and alu frame etc.
what's I think is a little hard to tell the difference are thing like the tubing of the frame (631 vs. 853).
