  • compromise don't necessary mean bad, while alu is pretty light, it can be too stiff sometime, even the Globe Haul I have were too stiff until I drastically change some of the component to compensate.

    steel and carbon fork make for a lovely ride, but in the end, it's horses for courses, some like alu, some like steel.

    while others claim the human body cannot actually feel the minor differences in frame materials and any that are there are masked by the tyres, seat, bar tape etc,.
    Apparently no technical tests can pick up any noticeable differences so why would a human be able to?

    When I say others I mean Mike Burrows but I feel he has a point. I think forks make a difference because they actually move/bend but a frame made up of triangles and welded/joined very securely is not going to move anywhere is it?
