I'm confused, do you want BB30 cups or not? If so Campag do them.

Was hoping to. Cant find any info on Campag compatible freehubs though :(
Hope would be another option (Already have some MTN Hope hubs). They have eventually made their hubs Campag compatible, but now say that they are not 11 speed compatible (which I dont really understand).
Ho-hum. The luxury of poverty has granted me time to look around.
Royce ?

I've been tempted by a few uber light+stiff, BB30 frames, and Sram seem to be the only groupset producers, really explioting the BB30 technology. The campag BB30 cups, are more like adaptors than a fully developed BB30 system (IMHO).
Royce ?
Are high on my list. Just a little pricey.
The 240s are priced around the same as the Tune 180s. Both of which are only slightly less expensive then getting some Royce hubs, tricky.

Campag have decided, correctly, to press the bearings to the expensive part (crank/axle assembly) and let if float in the cheap part (cups). When the complete BB assembly gets dirty and wobbles about, the soft cheap cups will get destroyed. All the other external BB systems press the bearings into the cups and let them float on the axle, which means the axle will wear before the cups. I suppose now that BB30 is using the frame directly as the cups, they have at least got the press fit in the most expensive component, but it still seems less robust in the long term than the Campag system, because the frame material is much softer than the bearing shell, and there will be wear every time the bearings are replaced. With Campag, bearing replacement involves pressing a steel bearing onto a steel shaft, so they should be good for many more replacement cycles before the interference fit wears out.

I was'nt aware of that^ interesting. The point I was trying to make was that campagnolo not developed a separate crankset for BB30 use. They have simply bought out an improved version of their BB cups.

I favour Shimano and Mac. Let the arguments commence.

The weird thing is that it competes very well with the red groupset. Oops.
Not really "oops". Not many DuraAce/Record/Red buyers are going to trade down to second tier groupsets because they are the kind of people who want the top of the range come what may, so it doesn't matter to them that Ultegra/Chorus/Force provides the same function with only a few ounces of extra weight at little over half the price. It is important to the manufacturers to have reviews which say the second tier groupsets are basically just as good as the top of the range, because second tier is where the profit is made in OEM sales.

I've noticed it on a lot of mid range OTP road bikes. It seems a good OEM choice, as it still has some novelty value, and it helps keep the bikes weight down. Apparantly its tougher for 2010 too.
Chorus is heavier, more expensive, and less compatible (thinking BB30, and free hubs) than force. I just like the shape and functionality.
