  • Do you also have a wall made from empty cans of lager?

lol I did many years back. Thing stank something rotten...

  • im in the process of building a fixie as my first project. I have a raleigh arena gt (early 1970s)
Ive stripped the bike back and have literall removed everything other than the BB. Im now trying to decide whether to respray myself or have it shop sprayed?????

Also where is the best place to source parts from........deep v section wheels etc?

If you care about your bike enough to be seen in public with it, try to stay away from the rattle can. It may pay to stop by armourtex. Most importantly they know which bits not to spray.
you can check out their work here

Drops and a track stem on a lo-pro? You must be built like Ondrej Sosenka

    he's right.... needs risers ;)

  • you wont ride the bike half as often as you think. you will grow to hate it.

  • Looks better like that.

ha! its true, but not a very nice thing to say to someone who just got a nice new frame.

the front end doesn't look too low, but still...

  • low pros are the equivalent of stilettos. look quite similar actually.

  • ^amen^

My dave yates was much lower and I grew to love it. And I could happily do 75 mile rides on it.

  • was?

  • Here we go....

  • was?

    Sold it.

a white concor would look nicer, you might aswell buy my one ;)

    whats the frame?

  • looks like a little something for HH to me.

  • Way better, I think you'll need to level them off a bit rather than follow the angle of the top tube if you want to use the "horn" part of the bars.

  • I'd match the angle of the stem, or have them horizontal.

everything's low end budget at the moment for a quick build up. I'll upgrade everthing in time.

Unsure of the make. It's been resprayed and there are no decals. You can see a few more pics of it here:

    1. Nice lugs. Suspect it might be grass track or a half and half thing as it's got a little hoop to hang a derailleur and a little bump on the underside of the down tube for strap on shifters.

    Maybe... just maybe... ;]

  • Put these bars on the Malvern Star for shits and giggles last night. A little bit too wide for my liking (~50cm wide), but I’m going to keep an eye for some skinnier ones (~40cm wide). Oh yeah, the Nitto stem was all I had, but it kinda works. Oh yeah, I can still track stand and skid with them!

  • 50cm? that's pretty wide, you can trim off the end slighty to make it a bit less narrow, the other option are those french-style one that you can try and get for 42cm, like the Velo Orange/Nitto Montmartre bar.

    mine are a super-wide 54cm;
