• that's a good idea, Aidan. try to arrive early and split your bike up as much as you can and put parts to other bags for the flight duration.

    get a bike box ( like when you buy a bike ). Put your bike into it + clothes, but at the chek-in don't say it's a bike, just say it's some hardware and your clothes. It is semantics, but if you were only taking a frame over, you wouldn't have to book it, would you? so why not tell them it's bike parts ?

    Would probably help if you give wheels to someone else though.
