Watch someone riding park or street, look at the amount of disaster to tyre tap/abubaca combinations. The wheels definitely take a lot more abuse from angles that you would not see in general use of a track bike.
We are talking about fixed gear 700c bikes here though.
Fixed gear riding has moved on at last if people are doing disasters, tyre taps and the like. I still just see people spinning their bars around a bit with the occasional 180 rollout out thing.
Plus, my tyre taps were always a thing of finesse which would cause no undue stress on the bike...
