Tent, check. Bike, check. Panniers, check. Dates, check.
I'll be on my own though, so be gentle with me.... Space in tent for anyone who isn't a serial-killer, sleep-groper or flatulent f**ker.
Do I need to book myself, or are we doing it as a block?

Woo, 15 pitches. I'll give the campsite a call tomorrow to check about two small tents in one pitch. Also, they still have 19 pitches showing as available on that date on their site at the moment, so I'll double check that's correct and post the extra spots here if the owners are OK with us booking nearly the entire campsite. :)
Will also check about bivvies and hammocks.

Tricity,
Shall we give you some money in advance to pay the deposit? What is the most convenient way for you?

Mmm. Most of my camping equipment was with a car in mind, and some hiking during the day... it's large, heavy and not entirely suited to being carried on a bicycle. I think my tent is OK, it's light and not too massive, but the sleeping bags we have are so old and cheap that they're several kilos each and would easily fill and overflow even a large Archies.
It's going to be a pub meal right? Sleeping bags are easily replaced by pretty much anything else on the market... but it would be good to not have to consider bringing a Trangia! Those things weigh a bomb.
Packing list:
- Tent
- Sleeping bags
- 1 set of clothes
- Some spare shorts and socks
- Shits and giggles
I think that's about everything needed.

Just so people know, the camp shop sells portable barbecues and logs so if a stove is causing you problems you should be fine with what's available there.
We'll be taking a lightweight stove, a pot and as Bendix puts it "a big fork" for some vege sausage BBQ fun.As for sleeping bags, just snuggle up next to whoever you share with. :) (have fun Max and Fruitbat)

Oooh! So skewers, veg and a little halloumi is all we're gonna need for a veggie BBQ? Awesome.

Would now be the right time to mention that I live about 15 miles from the campsite; & i'm in the process of building the LFGSS BBQ BIKE, and we could possibly try it out on this occasion?

If it involves bringing it over Ditchling Beacon then absolutely!

hahaha, a 1934 butchers bike, with a coaster brake & live BBQ, coming down ditchling beacon? Could pose interesting, will need the helmet cam, an ambulance, and possibly the fire brigade!

Can I get on the reserve list for this?
I may be off skiing but will know about that by the time the dropouts start occuring.
This looks like LARKs.

We should be able to help out. Rig up a few fixeds with bungees and get them facing up the hill to counter the down force. They slowly backwards downhill while BBQ bikes, coaster bike goes unstrained.
Nothing can go wrong with this plan.

Is the route going up Ditchling?
