Well if you already had 10 biros and you decide that you really MUST have the latest biro, then yes you are wasting resources. You can afford to buy them but by wanting more you are destroying natural resources which could be used on much more important things.

so how does that tie in to alleviating the plight of a Mumbai slum dweller?
