  • My point, was that spending so much money on a car is wasteful. And people buy pieces of crap because that is all they can afford and they have as much right as to go around places as a rich person. A rich person should actually contribute to society and set an example of generosity, buying a Ferrari shows off their wealth and their self-importance.

You could say the same about people spending ridiculously large amounts of money on a bike (in my opinion anyway). But if your point is about people spending large amounts of money on a car as opposed to the car itself, why is there never a mention of those people in the middle east with their fleets of gold Rolls Royces?

Personally, I would never drive in London, let alone drive a supercar in it. But I don't feel like I have a duty to criticise those who do. Like I said, some people buy £500k Ferraris as a status symbol, some people buy £5k BMWs as a status symbol. Some people buy £500k Ferraris for performance and fun, some people buy £5k BMWs for fun. If people have the money, why shouldn't they be allowed to spend it how they please? They're not harming anyone are they?

They're both half as efficient as a Polo.. so they're both shit..

So by that logic, a Polo is shit compared to a Prius?

There's a lot more to a car than an MPG figure.
