ok that's fine - so either 3Gb or 4Gb RAM will be an improvement
If you don't download lots of music and dont need the capacity I would say go with the first option then. 160Gb drive will be enough - you could always buy a 320Gb passport for like £50-60 quid if you start to need more space - the price of storage is dropping all the time, it's not an issue at all
