  • I still stand by my original comment that you don't need to skid, even if you're going fast, it's more about figuring out what's going to happen next, is there's an 'exit' in case the original line you chosen is blocked, certain part of the road where you can cane it without needing to dramatically slow down when approaching the nearest junction.

    having says that, I still do skip stop though, which doesn't really wear the tyre that much, much more effective than a skid per se.

    skid stopping is skidding!

    I still think if you ride at 20+mph it is too fast to catch a pedestrian crossing, traffic lights etc,. and slow down with back pressure alone. Not much to figure out, the lights change and you need to stop before you reach them...
