• Hehehe! Me too man.

On the recent London lights ride I had just got a new bike and didn't have the tools at the time to swap pedals over to my usual spds, so I had to use the clips that were on it. I was wearing adidas shell toes which have the smoothest soles known to man and I couldn't get the pedal to flip round after each of the many stops to get my foot in.

I fell off once at a give way when I did the spd twist and nothing happened and spent the rest of the ride dragging my right clip around as I could get my foot in it.

    Drove me nuts!

I am sure you will be fine though..,

I find with clips & straps it's all about the set-up. I run £20 double straps with a patch of leather at the top to keep them together with christophe double skinned cages on MKS track pedals. It's rare that i don't get my foot in 1st time as this keeps it's shape really well. Retention is great and you can still get your foot out easily if you want. Single straps are generally rubbish for getting your foot in and out of as the strap bends all over the place. Having clips and straps also encourages you to trackstand ;-)
