sidis are generally quite narrow. i have quite narrow feet and dominators are fine for me.
Those Gaernes look nice though, I would seriously consider them.

cheers Snoops
always a difficult call - i think they look damn fine but sidi's get more +recommendations...hmmm
-
• #257
yeh i have no idea how the gaernes will wear, sidis have a pretty untouchable reputation. they are great. but the gaernes look awesome. i'm getting abit sick of my sidis as they are so stiff, wearing them all day long isnt enjoyable.
-
• #258
yep - know what you mean. bullet proof is good but the "slipper" feel and a bit more comfort has a lot to be said for it!....so long as they dont fall apart too fast

+1 for Dominators, had mine for a few weeks now & v happy
-
• #260
The longer I've had mine, the more I love them. They seem to be getting better with age.
-
• #261
what insoles did you get for them?
-
• #262
Me? They just have the shitty blue wafer thin foam things, first few months of having them weren't comfortable but my feet are used to them now.
-
• #263
i was presuming you had changed them if you were enjoying a pair of sidis.
you have to change them, they are horrid. absolutely horrid. its embarrassing that they supply them with shoes that now cost over £150.

To be fair, the ball (not heel) of my foot does get pretty sore after wearing them all day and spending a fair amount of time on my feet.
I am going to be couriering in them soon so I imagine I'll find out how nasty they really are then.
What other insole would you recommend? I'm only really looking for more padding under the ball of my foot. Anywhere else would fuck with the shoe's fit which is perfect AFAIC.
-
• #265
There is a new sidi insole available now with proper arch support and more in the heal.
this doesn't come with the shoes but available separately.
The thin insoles, thing is you don't really need a cushioned foot bed on a cycling shoe is the reason. -

im not looking for an airbubble, im looking for arch support and heel cup support. anyway i cant recommend any insoles, i just took some out of some old trainers, working ok. but i want to buy some nice new ones as they have been ruined by the snow.
-
• #267
would these fit? i wear them all the time in my day to day shoes and gym stuff.
-
• #268
Could do.

The black soles are recommended for MTB shoes.

Specialized BG Fit are good :) You need to know your arches though...

lol?

no but now you say it......they're not looking as good to me today!
-
• #272
I have some sidi dominators 46.5 unworn £107.50 from that Xmas Wiggle offer if anyone wants them.
-
• #273
Specialized footbeds aren't about arches afaik. They are designed to help with inversion and eversion(sp?) aren't they.
Good footbeds thoug. And Max why are you spending all day in cycling shoes?
-
• #274
Max is a curryer now dontchaknow.

Yeah I've just realised now that I definitely need insoles, like snoops said earlier the lack of arch support is shocking, and from my own experience the bit of insole under the ball of my foot is so thin it's like there is nothing there (after a while)
Well then.. it's up to what YOU think looks the best isn't it? We've been through this kiddies..
