  • Done and done!

I drank to a brilliant man and some brilliant memories. x

  • Very sad news.
Rode with Paul a few times, especially the epic london to brighton ride where he earned his nickname.
    RIP Paul

  • Goodbye Paul

I'll see you on the road.

  • :( When I go on facebook, on the Suggestions on the right hand side, it keeps asking me to share some news with him.

  • I had no idea. I've just read the whole thread and it made me weep.
To all of you who have helped and supported Paul and to those who are touched by his passing, I salute you. RIP Paul.

  • i dont know paul, but thats irrelevant.
this thread is pretty heartwarming and its clear what a good guy paul was.
a poignant way to start the new year.
    RIP buddy.

  • Incredibly sad sad news. Paul was an amazing man and should be an inspiration to us all. Whether it be to remain eternally positive, treat everyone with respect or just get out and enjoy riding your bike.
He impacted many lives on here and I feel priviliged to be able to call him a friend.
Rest in Peace Mr. 50/14. You will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
    With love, Donut!

  • Ahh... That's sad news.

    Rest In Peace, Paul.

You will never be forgotten. Your legend will always live on in our hearts and memories.

  • so desperately sad that gentle fiddy's gone.
love to everyone who spent so much time with him,
just think of that brilliant smile when you're sad
    x kitty

  • I only ever met Paul once, on the forum ride to Clacton-on-Sea. He was the kind of guy that you feel you've known for years. Even the story of how he got the name 'Fiddy' was amusing. It is so heart-warming to see such an outpouring from the forumungers. RIP Fiddy.

  • Is there a celebration of his life/wake?

  • Rest in peace my dear gonna miss you I am at a loss for words sorry
John, James, Jon, Em and those who supported in the last few weeks you are truly amazing
    Much love
    Vicksxx

  • This is an amazing thread, Fiddy you had so many friends here on the forum, emma and I miss you already. If i could only live a peice of your life i would be a fulfilled man!!!

    RIP

You were an inspiration, the distances you rode were incredible and we will always remember you

    love from Leigh and Emma

  • What sad news to wake up and log on to...

Paul i'll miss chatting about cruising through French vineyards, your cheeky little chortle, and sitting at Souths with a beer watching you open your bag to pull out some fancy bit of kit to either discuss or flog.

A legend amongst men, take it easy up there, brother.

  • maybe we should have a meorial ride for his memory murtle!!!

  • :( When I go on facebook, on the Suggestions on the right hand side, it keeps asking me to share some news with him.

You should do. He's still there and probably checking his facebook...

  • maybe we should have a meorial ride for his memory murtle!!!

Definitely should do this, it'd just be wrong if we didn't.

  • I only just found this terrible news out.

I've been giving a lot of thought to the idea of growing up lately and came to the conclusion that being more responsible doesn't have to mean that you have to suck. After meeting Paul a couple of years ago and seeing him at all kinds of bike related events, it struck me that he's a man who knows how to do things, with style, grace and gentleness. So now, if anyone were to ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I'd answer 'Like Paul'.

Rest In Peace, brother man. (He's probably already putting the miles in, though). You have been an inspiration and a pleasure to know.

2010 is going to be the year of doing things right, riding more, and appreciating what we have.

I've had the song 'Shine on You Crazy Diamond' ever since I read the news, and it's not going anywhere soon. Love you.

  • thats what i was thinking, ive pm'd dancing james with the idea,

  • I'm about to go and have a pint of G to the big man's memory in The Crown on Grove Road. I'd go to the Royal Inn, but it's not open today.

  • Mind if I join you?

  • A memorial ride is a given.

    Maybe a longer one?

  • If we start donations, everyone could be riding a Pinarello on 50x14.

  • A memorial ride is a given.

    Maybe a longer one?

a long one would be cool but also a short one to not exclude anybody, i would love to ride to brighton again really as that is the memory that i cherished the most and was a significant one as wel to me

  • Will be raising a glass of Speyside in honour of fiddy tonight.

I'd love to join a memorial ride to him. Perhaps a short one soon and a long one later on in the year when the conditions are a little more favourable.
