I only met Paul twice whilst on forum rides and once at Souths BBQ during the summer but was always impressed by his charm, quiet humour and knowledge of bikes. I didn't think that this qualified me to barge in on him in hospital when he was ill but my thoughts were with him and his thread was the first i read everyday.
All I can say is rest in peace Paul - you were loved by everyone on the forum.
Much respect also to DJ and all those who gave their time, energy and care to Paul over the past few weeks.

I've seen a lot of death and I've been to too many funerals and I've often thought, if only we could have gathered around our friend when he was still alive, shown them how much they were loved, at the Moser presentation I was privileged to have seen this happen, so many smiles, so many shoulders starting to jerk up and down, so many having to turn away, briefly but then come back, smiles restored, a beautiful, 531 awesome event, chapeau forum.
DJ, Object, Pigfarmer, Dropout and everyone else, you have loved so very much and helped others to love and don't be confused, love, more than a being a feeling is an action, saying you love someone is not the same as caring for them as they die and giving them dignity so they can hold on to what they have been as their time ends, Fuckin' CHAPEAU guys!
Fiddy, you have the grave goods of a viking or a pharoh, on to that Moser mate and last one to the pub pays...chapeau 50-14, chapeau. -

I've been following Paul's progress since this thread was first put up, so it's heartbreaking to hear that it has reached such a sad outcome. My thoughts go out to his family...
but also to all of you here, especially James, who did so much to make his final days so special. You are truly heroes. My mum has the same illness - I know what you've done and how you feel. Time to look after yourselves now.

A very sad day.
I am truly saddened by the loss of great man to this world. I am however happy that Pauls 'have-a go', zestful, effervescent and playful nature will live on in those who met him. Thanks so much to DJ, Em etc for giving so many of the forum a chance to say goodbye. Rest in peace Paul. x
