I'm looking forward to delivery of this flying scot clubmans road/ track frame. its going to be my first fixed build in the new year. the seat stays are a bit pitted - my friend Martin had it re-enamelled mid 70s and then never rebuilt it. We reckon lugs are nervex but does anyone know its age or can explain the big pointy fork dropouts! BB is for cottered steel cranks, I wonder if standard Raleigh roadster ones can be used? /attachments/19293
Hi,
I recently bought a '59 wally green frame from hilary and having looked at your pics, I can definitely say that it has the same lugs.
They are identical (apart from the top of the fork stays and the rear dropouts) they have the same scrolling and pointwork, the bottom bracket on mine is stamped ''nervex 59-3064-022-E38'', so presume them to be the same.
Hope that is of assistance.
The frame is sweet and would have had really, really tight clearances with english 27'' wheels (which would be correct) though with a 700 wheel on the front it gives a finger (12-15mm), however with the correct 27'' wheel the clearance is about 3 mm...
which excites me....;D..
which now begs the question, what is the availabilty of nice 27'' rims and tyres?
