  • If you look at the bottom of the BB and the back of the forks there will be a letter and a number. The letter corresponds to the year it was built and the number is how many frames had been built that year. My Scot is K22: K means '61 and '62, so it's from springish '61. You can also tell from the headbadge: does it just say 'the Scot' with the picture of the thistle? They used different ones during different periods. Once you know that you can check the catalogue (they're all on a website somewhere, I forget where) to see the specific tubing, if the lugs were Nervex etc. They are very special bikes.
