  • Meh. Let's all rollover and download an old (shit) song. It would be radical if the same people who d/l this went and voted once in a while.....

Oh cheer up you miserable git. It's Xmas number one, not a fucking referendum on the political will of the country.

As a result of this the following has happened:

    • 100k raised for Shelter
    • Youth Music getting a tidy wodge of cash from Tom Morello
    • RATM get first UK number one
    • RATM are going to play a free UK gig

Come on, what's to hate? Not only that but a huge message has been sent - this is the first time, the FIRST TIME that online social media has taken a stand against traditional media machine and WON. This is HUGE. And it's FUN. EnJOY it.

  • when is the free gig?

    EXACTLY!! Well put my man.
The song is a little tired, but has a good and relevant message for this purpose, but yeah, it's the bigger picture that is an out and out WIN.

  • Anyone hate the result, you shoulda gone and bought Simon Cowel's latest 'prodigy'.

If voting changed anything it would have been made illegal years ago. Fact.

Does it not just show that another portion of the population are unable to think for them selves?

Fuck you, what did you want us to do?

  • OK I've been ignoring this thread and umm well quite a frew threads lately. All I can say is I think I'm getting near giving up on this place. But this thread is interesting in light of what's happened.

I think, like Bleak Reference, that it's overall a good thing. I don;t know the song but heard the edited clean version on the radio this morning, me and my Mrs and my little boy played air guitar to it in our Jamas this morning before breakfast, and it was fun! (well, my kid was doing air drums actually).

Here's my round up from the first couple of pages, I might read the latter ones at some point, I'm sure it's all very nice.

Top of my Crimbo list is Rammstein - Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da.

Not sure they'll make No 1 though.

Anything by rammstein would be lovely.

YouTube- Colosseum - The Machine Demands a Sacrifice

This was pretty nice. Not very Christmassy though. Thanks Will.

X Factor records are on the SyCo label, which is owned by Sony. You guys aren't seeing the irony here?

This is worth repeating. SONY is the winner, kids. Oh, Shelter got some money. Well, that's cool if you think charity, not change, is a great idea. (c) Chumblywumbly

Yeah. In the end, it s a good thing.

I'm going to start a campaign on the amazing social networking phenonomenomennonmenon that is LFGSS to make this next years Number One RIGHT NOW! Yeah! Crass! Amongst other things it says that jesus 'scooped the pits of Auschwitz'. Which is nice.

yeah for sure and i think that portion of the population was and always will be there, hopefully slighty less exploitable though.
It's no revolution, but it's a hope and ultimately should be considered a positive outcome.

    YouTube- Crass - Reality Asylum

Christ almighty,[/irony] that's... Well, I'm lost for words. I'm behind you all the way...

  • When I first heard that record it fucking blew my tiny mind. I still recite part of it whenever I'm near bible bashers... 'jesus died for his own sins, not mine' always shuts the fuckers up.

  • haha, thats quality... I'm compelled to ask, is it a serious record? i.e. a real band and all?

Edit, google says it is. Wow.

you have no knowledge of the mighty crass? go forth and listen. one of the best bands ever!

  • Hard to really keep a straight face when Crass are mentioned, most people would say. I happen to dig all that 80s 'anarcho-punk' stuff.

Crass ! Never liked them as a little kid, I was too scared !! Reality Asylum is insane, more art than music - but it would be great to see it as next year's Christmas number 1, maybe Leona Lewis could do a cover version, you know . . . something a bit more 'dancey'/R&B.

Jesus scooped the pits of Auschwitz ?

    He certainly did.

  • Fucking great idea, Tynan, Leona x Crass. RnBleed needs spicing up a bit.

EDIT HAHAH I only just actually looked at that image properly. I want a T shirt of that.

  • Macarena next year then

I'll have a word with the guy that organised this whole thing - found out the other day he sits about 10 feet away from me in the next office.

  • Actually, next year should be Dead By Christmas by Hanoi Rocks (teenslain will love it)
