Some twat binned his car into the back of a gritter right in front of my eyes on my way home from a mate's around 1am. People driving hanging off each other's bumpers. Fucking retards. A12 wasn't gritted properly, snow was quite deep but tyre grooves meant you could get traction and get up to at least 30 mph safely. A guy a couple of cars in front of me decided this wasn't fast enough after 20 mins, indicated, accelerated and pulled out into the outside lane which had thick, untouched snow. What the fuck did he think was going to happen? Needless to say I think his seat was brown after he spun it, narrowly missed the car behind and ended up on the hard shoulder resting against the barrier.
No wonder the whole country shuts down with a bit of snow if everyone acts like colossal idiots.
