Raleigh records are a medium range raleigh. Nothing special, they are usually made of 501 and have rear dropouts prone to cracking and fork crowns prone to bending. They have decent alloy parts on them, especially the cranks. The black ones with all gold parts are the most memorable version and do look pretty spiffing. There are some versions with aero tubing and curved seatube. In a typical raleigh way, they have this interesting lanky geometry, where the frames are kind of tall looking. My one rode beautifully till I snapped the dropout.
