Straight razors are awesome, especially if you're the type of person who doesn't shave for a few weeks at a time. Slicing that shit off in one foul swoop is unbelievably satisfying.
Great advice getting a disposable first too, I picked up a bunch of vintage straight razors off ebay when I first started using them, and because I didn't know about taking care of them, they rusted to buggery in a few months. Shame, some were lovely.
But yeah, cuthroat, do it! Just pay attention to the angle, there are some videos on youtube which explain it better than text does.
